Oh … I’m not talking about the band. Just wanted to say “CHEERS” to the gals at PISTIL flowers for simply being the best at what they do. They have the “guns” to usher in Valentine’s Day with a BIG BANG and all the roses you can ever imagine! Here are the posters that are going to appear all over First Canadian Place (in downtown Toronto), marking Valentine’s Day and their big Opening in February. Congrats again.

Interesting to see what historical records of Vintage 70’s logos are showing us. Lessons for year 2010 and beyond ? They say “logos are dead”, icons and avatars are here to stay. Wait until our kids are our age … I wonder whether everything become a moving image/ flash animation / video footage. An unknown future awaits us.
Always inspired by images of the old. Have a feeling I might lived a life in the past some time. How else would one relate so dearly to these scenerios … one wonders ?

Marks the turn of the 21st Century into the tenths. It is a time for us to look in retrospect at the year that’s past.
Here are Ten snap shots of what we have been up to in 2009 and some insights into achieving a Perfect 10 in the new year.
Just wanted to share an awesome find I bought today. It’s the ABD3D book by Marion Bataille. Marion Bataille was born in 1963 and lives and works in France. She is a widely published graphic artist and illustrator who also works for the Pompidou Centre, Le Monde and all the best French Publishers. ABC3D is her first book to be published in the UK.
It goes to show that graphic design can literally “pop off the page” when given to the right creative minds. It’s hard to describe this amazing book, you just have to watch it. This is the Link to the french site. Or Watch the Video.
Where would you look for a job in the Canadian Construction and Building industry ? Wanted to do a quick post to mark the completion of a Naming, Corporate Brand Strategy & Identity project for the launch of a new career site for Reed Construction Data. Thanks to Mike W. of Helium B2B , project methodology and delivery was a huge success. They were impressed with our approach and how it helped them expedite on the naming of the new website. Reason why they came to us was because none of their in-house efforts were conclusive. The Final outcome was the creation of the name MyJobSite.ca …. which was incidentally in their original shortlist. We just made it clearer for them, giving them a sound rationale to back their choice. We look forward to seeing the full launch of the site in December 2009. We also followed-up with an Ad Campaign within the Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce Newspapers.
“Red Bulb” signifies a passion. It is an internal fire that spurs us to do what we love doing; a silent alert that shows us the way to live better and make healthier choices; a reflection on the journey we have taken and the experiences we have encountered; and a warm torch guiding us into a future, vast and unknown.
Creating a new brand name is by no means a small feat, just as it is trying to set up a new cafe in small town Stouffville. From understanding the vision to the target audience to local competition and every other detail thereafter. We have given an initial drive to their blog so that the Red Bulb Movement can start rolling. The Red Bulb Cafe will soon come to fruition, but will always remain a journey of passion.
Why are more and more interiors using graphic elements ?
Simple answer : is to create spatial DRAMA !
Environmental Graphics is what we call it.
Just completed some projects using graphics to punch out tables in a restaurant and to accent a feature wall. We used digital illustration to create patterns and even “paint” an entire Chinese Ink Painting for one project. Client has asked for the projects to remain anonymous, so we can’t tell you where Maybe you can take a wild guess.
It’s amazing. Thanks to my genius husband, I just did what my web-developer has been spending months trying to figure out : putting my blog within my website. It’s simple as a few click away and now I have my entire blog within my main domain. What can I say….but the fact that we all really need to keep up with new technology, web developers included ! Anyway, here it is …
