Art in the form of words, story telling, blogging & writing …
Recently rediscovered that the ancient art of writing and speaking with it’s modern incarnations on the internet. Loving all the video blogs, podcasts and readings online. Visual stimulation is only as good as the stories behind them. Check out this list of truly talented and creative people who are so good in their “art of Words”. It really is a skill to be able to speak, articulate and write an idea that paints a picture that is as vivid as the real thing. That is one skill we would have to hone and harvest from within.

Sheila Cameron- CST – brand identity
A continuation of our post about COLOURS … we think it sets the mood of any work.
refer to previous post “Red of Reds”
What do you think of when you picture a large room with a Black Chalk board and a teacher dressed in Mustard yellow bell-bottoms ? We think Vintage School Room … and that was the feeling that we wanted to evoke with Sheila C’s new Print material and business cards. She is a Complementary Medicine Professional, who works with her hands using therapies that are based on some very old principles. Her work brings about a much needed balance to our bodies which are constantly being subjected to the harsh physical and mental realities we live in today. A close-cropped, reversed image of the human spinal cord from an old medical journal gave an abstract feel to the piece.
Congratulations to Emma’s Kitchen on the successful launch of their website. They are all about wholesome bars, specially custom-made for you. Yes, choose your base and pick your ingredients and Emma’s Kitchen will deliver. This is the brain-child of a young entrepreneur, Phil Herner, who believed in his dream of creating a healthy, convenient and tasty product for urban professionals on the go.
So after creating their brand image, logo and packaging label, we also had the chance to try their Hearty Quinoa Blueberry Chocolate Chip bar & Prairie Oat Nature’s Fibre bar. And we wonder how something that is so good for you can also be so tasty ! Kudos to Phil for a job well done in product development. We bet many hours and sleepless night were spent in his test kitchen trying to get the recipe right. Check out their website (www.Emmaskitchen.com) for details on how to order these awesome custom-made bars.
To be precise, it should be Doctor Timmy Douglas.
The quote : “Courage my friends; tis’ not too late to build a better world” has been made beyond life size (21 feet long to be exact) at the newly opened HEALTH for ALL Family Health Team – the Markham Family Medicine Teaching Unit facility in Markham-Stouffville Hospital. They have approached us to create a feature wall for their Waiting Room bearing the words of the good doctor Timmy Douglas. Of course we jumped at it.
Working with the colour palette of the waiting room chairs, existing wall colours, we picked a deep ocean turquoise colour for the base of the feature wall and designed letters of varying fonts to emphasis on the key words in the quote. By further playing with the thickness of the CNC-cut acrylic letters, and finishing in both matt white and brushed aluminium, the quote finally came to life. According to our client, people from other departments and hospitals have been visiting the facility just to see this wall …. we are very honoured.
Part of this project also involved colour consultation for the Doctors’ and Residents’ offices and also design of their logo wall in the waiting area.
